Don't Ever Settle for Mediocrity
"If an Attitude is not Positive then it is, at best,
Indifferent and, at worst, Negative" "Good Enough is the Enemy of Great"
You will be amazed at how much you thought you knew about great customer service.
The problem is, most of us have learned to accept 'good enough' or even mediocre customer service.
We have become so trendy and confident in our conversations about customer
service that we seem to have forgotten the basic elements to this important and age old term. Most could not give
an accurate definition of the words “customer” or “service” and yet we proclaim to know how to provide it with
expertise. Rarely do we explore the notion that, in life and business, we are all servers in one way or
another.
It is not possible to offer quality customer service without an awareness of the
power of attitude, an understanding of our own personal hot buttons and a desire to be a “server”
first and foremost. When these important elements take shape, then we are empowered to create relationships
with others. A relationship with a customer need not be long lasting yet it must be genuine, considerate
and intended to serve the needs of such customer without expectations for something in return.
